The Heroes at Home holiday program by Sears will be sending out emails today letting you know if you were accepted into the program, so keep your eyes open for it. As you’ll recall, the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry was open to your fellow active-duty military members on August 30, 2012 in an effort to help make your family’s holiday season a little brighter this year. If you were accepted here is what you can expect:
Donations will be collected by Sears and distributed to the 20,000 recipients. The donations collected from September 2 and November 16, 2012 will be evenly distributed across all participants in the form of a Sears e-Gift Card on or around December 2nd. You will receive the amount and the gift card information in an email so make sure to watch for it. In the past they also did a second round of e-gift cards in January for all donations collected after November 16th, but its not clear at this time as to whether they will be doing this again this year.
Once you receive your e-gift card it may be used at any time toward purchases online at sears.com and kmart.com or in-store at any Sears, Kmart, Lands’ End or the Great Indoors location. You can check your Sears e-Gift Card balance at sears.com at any time. Simply click on the gift card field at the top of the homepage and follow the instructions (you will be asked to provide your Sears e-Gift card number and associated PIN).
